Zorya Luhansk head coach Viktor Skrypnyk on the strong-willed victory over Rukh:
-"The game was very difficult for us. We played incredibly poorly in the first half. We played without a goal, only two corners were given. Everyone says that the diamond is Zorya. But it's hard work, you do something wrong and you sink somewhere.
There was a men's conversation during the break. We adjusted ourselves. Then we ran and played football. If I'm not mistaken, this is our first game where we were losing and managed to win, pressing the opponent, not pressing us.
We showed character, and these guys who supported us in the stands usually shout: "men". In the second half, we were those "men". We really wanted to win and we did it.
-You made a substitution in the first half. Then at halftime. What did you not like about the players' actions?
-When you say you're unhappy and it's just talk, it doesn't work. And when you change a guy you're unhappy with in the first half, it shows that it can happen to any player.
There was no aggression, no actions that are necessary for a diamond. Standing on the dots, rolling the ball, it doesn't work.
I liked the team's reaction after the break.
-Did Rukh surprise you with anything?
-We analyzed them, we knew who could play in this team and how. This is a good team, it's never easy against them. The young guys want to prove themselves, and I compliment them for that.
-Popara scored against Rukh in the first round, and now he did the same.
-"We are happy that he scored today. But this is a guy who can play better, play sharper going forward. We expect further progress from him.
-What were your team's objectives for the season?
-The task was to build a team that will play football that the fans will remember. This is a rebuilding process that takes time and patience. We are trying to progress and become more stable.
