Viktor Skrypnyk, head coach of Luhansk’s “Zorya,” on the decisive victory over “Skala 1911”:
-We respected our opponent, but we knew we were the stronger team. For matches like this, you always need to field “hungry” players. That’s exactly what we did. As it turned out, my team played with enthusiasm and deservedly won 6–0.
-We’re currently on a record-breaking winning streak in away games. We haven’t lost on the road since April.
-To be honest, I don’t pay attention to that. Every game is a new story. Besides, for us, every match has been on the road since 2014. Keeping score is a job for statisticians, journalists, and analysts. What matters to us is always playing to win.
-We have a tough league match coming up against Kharkiv.
-I wouldn’t say things have been easy for us leading up to this. It all depends on us—on our mindset and our determination. We’re becoming more confident and solid. We understand that a lot depends on us, not on our opponent. But we’ll be facing a strong opponent. Last season, they were ahead of us in the standings. We want it to be the other way around this time.
