Viktor Skrypnyk: "We are happy to have won today"

Luhansk Zorya manager Viktor Skrypnyk on the important victory over Karpaty:

-"We played the first half very well. We disassembled the opponent, knew how to play against them, what space we would have. Somewhere we could have played even better. But we are pleased that after the defeat in the last round, we won today.

There is one more match left - LNZ. A good opponent, a tense match awaits us. It's ahead, but for now, the guys won and got a well-deserved two days off.

-What points did you pay attention to before preparing for the game with Karpaty?

-We paid attention to the space we could get in the game against them. We had to close the player, Bruninho scored a lot, who hides behind the midfielders. In the first half, especially, we closed this vertical. He scored only once today, in the second half.

Many videos showed us how to set up for the match.

Plus, we changed positions on the field when under pressure.

In the second half, the opponent played more actively. Nevertheless, there was no serious sharpness at our goal.

-Today, after a long break, Petar Michin played from the first minutes... But do you count on Roman Salenko?

-That's what we decided. Michin plays well forward, he can make the passes we needed today.

We are also counting on Salenko. We didn't want to just let young players play for 5-10 minutes in such a difficult game. One mistake and you can fall into a hole psychologically.

-Philip Budkivsky's card was his fourth.

-I know. He will miss the game against LNZ. A stupid yellow card, but it's emotions.
